 Metering

Perform scheduled calibration tests in the field on revenue and indicating meters. Items below are on the recommended standard maintenance schedule for metering. Inspect meters for physical damage; inspect cover glass, cover gasket, presence of foreign material and moisture, condition of spiral spring, disc clearance, contacts and case grounds.
  • Check mechanically for freedom of movement, proper travel and alignment, and tightness of mounting hardware and tap plugs.
  • Perform series full-load and light-load tests on each revenue meter function by secondary injection method. Calibrate to 0.5 percent accuracy on WATT functions and 1.0 percent accuracy on VAR functions.
  • Perform a calibration check of indicating meters and recorders by secondary current and voltage injection. Record as found current and voltage transformer ratio settings.
